# E/M Coding

> Learn how Suki recommends Evaluation and Management (E/M) codes from a completed clinical note or during an ambient session. Learn how to get started, choose Ambient or standalone APIs, and retrieve recommendations

## Get started

Start here if you are new to visit codes, or if you need to decide whether codes come from an ambient visit or from a note you already have.

## Generate and retrieve

Ask for a visit code with the ambient visit, or send a note you already have, then read the result.

> Send a finished note, wait until coding finishes, and read the recommended code.
